Carytown Dolls and Bears
is an enchanting shop reminiscent of structures found in medieval Europe. It features a timbered facade with hand-hewn timbers, leaded glass windows and hand carved details. The shop is located in Richmond, Virginia and is in "Carytown", a delightful area that includes unique specialty shops, boutiques, gift shops, galleries and restaurants.


Carytown Dolls and Bears offers a wonderful selection of artist dolls such as Robert Tonner, Himstedt, Adora, Helen Kish, Middleton, Zwergnase, Pauline's Paulinettes and Zawieruszynski to name a few and bears such as Steiff, Redland, Hermann, Deb Canham, World of Miniatures, Little Gem, Muffy, Jody Battaglia, Zwergnase and others. Also offered is a great selection for children such as Corolle play dolls, Gund teddy bears, Mary Meyer and Taggie's baby toys, Steiff plush animals, Schilling tin toys, Breyer Horses, Folkmanis puppets and Melissa and Doug toy lines.

Additionally, Carytown Dolls and Bears offers a wonderful array of decorative house and garden flags, collegiate flags, holiday flags, monogram flags, flag poles and flag accessories.

Carytown Dolls and Bears is very easy to find. Located in the "museum district" in the near west end of Richmond, it is just 1/2 mile from downtown in the unique boutique shopping district of Carytown. Carytown covers an 8-block area and is filled with approximately 250 unique specialty, boutique, gift and antique shops, as well as galleries and restaurants.

Another Carytown attraction is the Byrd Theater, a
restored, ornate 1920's movie palace with one of the few remaining fully functional Wurlitzer Pipe Organs. Currently,the Byrd's Mighty Wurlitzer is one of only two still being played for American audiences on a regular basis; the other is housed in New York City's Radio City Music Hall.
