For this highly valued and exceptional replica, the mohair is made in the same way as it would have been made for the original. PETSY is hand-stuffed with fine wood shavings. His inimitable facial expression is not only created by his glass eyes but also by his hand-stitched nose, originally red but now faded over the course of time to a light copper colour. But as in the original, the red can still be seen in the underlying felt disc.
