Fabulous 19" porcelain Decades of Fashion 1950's dressed doll (style no. 99401), 1999, made in an extremely limited edition of just 100 pieces (# 72/100), original retail MSRP $599, by Tonner Doll Company. Store New condition!

Hand painted features, blue eyes, lovely pink blush on cheeks, vivid red lips, dark brunette mohair wig (styled in the late 1950s bouffant style), 5-way jointed (straight arms).

Within the production chronology of Robert Tonner's doll company, her unusual size and original sculpt make her a precursor to the vinyl Kitty Collier doll that would debut the following year.

This 1950's Decades of Fashion doll wears a grey organza gown covered in a dusting of shimmering sparkles amid silver roses, handmade black strappy heels as well as hosiery, underwear, crinoline and slip. Accessories include her original jeweled faux-diamond bow dress detail, matching faux-diamond latching bracelet, necklace, and drop earrings.

This doll was made entirely in the United States when the Tonner Doll Company factory was located in Kingston, New York. All in all a beautiful example of an extremely limited, well made porcelain Robert Tonner doll that will make a wonderful addition to one's fashion doll collection.
