Pippi Longstocking (Swedish Pippi Langstrump) is a fictional character in a series of children's books by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren and adapted into several films and television series. Pippi was named by Lindgern's then 9 year old daughter Karin, who requested a get-well story from her mother one day when she was home sick from school. Lindgren's 9 year old heroine Pippi is unconventional, assertive, and has superhuman strength, being able to lift her horse one-handed without difficulty. She frequently mocks and dupes adults she encounters, an attitude likely to appeal to young readers; however, Pippi usually reserves her worst behavior for the most pompous and condescending of adults.

The first three Pippi Longstocking books were published from 1945 to 1948, with an additional series of six books published in 1969–1975. Two final stories were printed in 1979 and 2000. The books have been translated into 64 languages.   

This Vintage Horsman Pippi Longstocking doll is 11 inches tall and is in excellent MIB (mint in box) condition. Produced in 1972, this Pippi Longstocking doll has a vinyl head and hard plastic body and limbs. She wears her original orange and green dress, green and orange high stockings, black vinyl shoes and white undergarments. Her bright orange rooted hair is still styled in Pippi's signature pony tales. She has blue side glancing eyes and a plethora of freckles across her nose and cheeks. The back of her neck is marked Horsman Dolls Inc./1972. There are no odors and the dolls' limbs are tight. She appears to have never been removed from her box........she even wears her original hair net. Given the age of this item, the doll, box and box lid are in amazingly good condition as shown in the photos.

Condition: Vintage Horsman Doll in excellent Mint in Box condition - rarely found in this condition! The only item that is not included is the History of Dolls booklet noted on the box lid.
